My Subscriptions
Like many people, I have a number of subscriptions for software; or, at least, I used to.
I've spent a lot of time honing my workflows and have managed to reduce my subscriptions to a minimum (as far as I'm concerned).
I went through a stage of paying for all sorts; there was Evernote, Fantastical, Todoist, CARROT (for the weather1), Drafts, Canva and a couple of others.
In fact, it was almost £400 each year....
Stop!
That all adds up to quite a lot of money and it had to stop.
So, STOP it has.
I have scaled back and now have a much more manageable list - and my bank balance is pleased too :)
I now use the stock Apple apps for Calendar and Reminders (saving overe £100 per year). I use Bear Notes instead of Apple Notes - I just prefer it.
I stopped paying exhorbitant price for Evernote - as much as I used to love it, they just priced themselves out of contention; and I've read they're about to raise them again.
The Apps I Pay For
- Bear - my note-taking app
- Dark Noise - ambient sound player
- Day One - my journal app of choice. I have looked at Apple's Journal app, but I'm not convinced; let alone the fact I have streak of 1673 days (at the time of publishing this post)
- Ivory for Mastodon
- Apple One - the family uses music and TV
Cutting back now means my annual subscription costs are now a more reasonable £200 per year.
I'm sure I could continue to trim this back, and I am very careful before subscribing to another service.
