Doony & Me

History Brought to Life

There’s a place near Birmingham where you can experience the Black Country of yesteryear.

Explore over 250 years of history, from the Industrial Revolution to post-war prosperity, through living interpretation at Black Country Living Museum in Dudley in the West Midlands.

We went as a family a few years ago and it was such fun to see and breathe how life used to be.

Was also interesting that this site was also the location for some of scenes from Peaky Blinders.

Leave the 21st century behind for the day and experience sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of the Black Country as you explore rebuilt and recreated shops, houses and industrial workshops.

There’s plenty for everyone to get stuck into. Why not head deep underground in our drift mine or listen to toe-tapping vinyl? There’s something for all ages and special memories to be made!

Says it all for me; I just wanted to share it with you.
