From Late Starter to TikTok: Why I Wrote a Guide for People Like Me
A confession, ten thousand hours late.
I didn't start investing young. Not even close. If there's a "right" age to start, I sailed past it a good while ago, and for years that felt like a reason to just... not bother.
📱 Why I Started Posting on TikTok
A while back I started a TikTok channel called "An Older Investor". The name says it all really — I wasn't a twenty-something with a spreadsheet and a five-year head start. I was someone who'd spent a long time thinking investing was for other people.
Turns out, I wasn't the only one who felt that way.
The comments started rolling in from people in the same boat — forties, fifties, even later — who'd assumed the window had closed. It hadn't. It had just felt that way because nobody was really talking to them.
📖 So I Wrote a Guide
That's where the ebook came from. It's called It's Not Too Late — The Late Starter's Guide To Investing, and it's basically everything I wish someone had handed me when I first started asking questions about money.
No jargon. No pretending you should've sorted this out at 22. Just a straightforward look at getting started when you feel like you're already behind — because honestly, you're probably not as behind as you think.
⚠️ The Important Bit
Right, caveat time, because I take this seriously even if the tone doesn't always sound like it.
This is just for fun. It's not financial advice, and I'm not a financial adviser. What you'll find in the guide is my own experience, my own research, and the things I found genuinely useful — not a personalised plan for your money.
If you're making real decisions about real cash, please do your own research and speak to a qualified professional. I'd rather you enjoy the guide and stay sensible than take anything I say as gospel.
🔗 Where to Get It
If any of this resonates — if you've ever thought "I should really sort my finances out but it feels too late" — the guide is available to download here: 👉 It's Not Too Late — The Late Starter's Guide To Investing
It's a small thing, built from a lot of scrolling, a lot of comments, and a genuine want to help people who feel exactly how I used to feel.
🙋 Over to You
Are you a "late starter" too? Or did you get in early and wish someone had told you what you know now sooner?
Either way, I'd love to hear where you're at — leave me a comment.
